Corpse Flower (Amorphophallus Titanum)

The deep ruby red throat opens
In a long black-blood tongue
Emitting a cradle-to-grave death smell
The scent of cheap-liquored liver death
Of crabbed-up scabby whores that didn’t bathe
The breath of the jittery-toothed old man
Nicotine brown stained
Dentures
That had been smoking since sixth grade
When he dropped out
And never knew what a toothbrush was
The possum on the side of the road
Three days in the high summer sun
Stomach bloated
To capacity
Maggots churning inside
In a fist.

The insects are fooled
As they land on her dark perfect skin
Only to commit
To her appetite
And fatal/fecal perfume.

10” Latex Whip

As I pulled up to the store
Where she was working
I saw her dragging the
Clothed mannequins up the steps
To take them inside.

“You better not be closing!”
I shouted out of the driver’s side window.

“I’ll be right back after I find a parking spot.”

I eased into the nearest empty meter
Not even throwing in a quarter
And walked back.

“I decided to take it.”
I told her
As she was pulling the next-to-last
Mannequin inside.

This one was wearing
An intricate patterned see-thru airline stewardess dress
With a nice felt collar
With buckles and anchors.

“I actually think my girl will dig it.”
“I was looking for leather, and this is a little light, but it’s nice...try something different.”

“Did you put it back?”
I asked.

“No. It’s still here on the counter.”

“Good! Then I’ll take it!”

“That’ll be $13.09.”

I gave her my card.

“Credit or debit?”

She was stunning to look at.

Thin, sculpted face
Nice breasts, glasses...

“Debit’s fine.”
I replied.

“Your glasses are crooked,”
I said
“But don’t fix them cuz they look sexy.”

She proceeded to tell me
That she just recently got in an accident
And her glasses got messed up
And she needed to get them fixed.

“Don’t.”

“Don’t get those ones fixed. Cuz they look sexy on you like that.”

She asked me if I needed a bag.

I told her
“No.”
And walked out of there with a present
For my girl
In my hand
For all to see.
