There must be some significance

Why you had that word

Tattooed on your ‘left’ wrist

Though I have never questioned it.

The script is elegant

On your

Thin white limb.

And

In a similar way

You haven’t questioned

Why I have the word

“Rogue”

Tattooed on the base of my spine.

I’m sure it is just an understanding.

I am compelled

To kiss the word

“Pause”

And press it against my forehead

Or my eyes

And just breathe.

Breathe you in.

I don’t question why

I just do.

Much like when I drew

The word “Rogue” by hand

And had it embedded

In my skin

For my lifetime.

I wanted to do it.

The “Rogue”

Is in elated bliss

With the

“Pause”.

I don’t question why.
